Leisure Projects PRIDE collection

For Pride Month 2023, Permaflora crafted green carnations for Leisure Projects’ “Pride Manifesto” collection. This initiative paid homage to the symbol of LGBTQ+ solidarity first popularised by Oscar Wilde and his contemporaries in 1892. Green carnations, a non-existent variety in nature at the time, were famously donned by Wilde and his peers at the premiere of “Lady Windermere’s Fan”, challenging Victorian societal norms. Through these bespoke faux carnations, Permaflora celebrated the spirit of the community, continuing the legacy of the green carnation as an emblem of pride and a subtle nod to the history of LGBTQ+ resilience.
